We are located at Ingenio County

The municipality has 38 km2 and a population of about 30,000 inhabitants, is located southeast of the island and its name comes from the cultivation and processing of sugar cane in a sugar mill. The main village is Carrizal and the beach is El Burrero.

Throughout the year some annual events like the International Festival of Folklore of Ingenio (July), the Festival Ingenio Cómico (March) and the San Haragán Festival in Playa del Burrero (last fortnight of August) are celebrated.
